Medical Cosmetician

Medical cosmetician and licensed beautician, Gabriele Engelbrecht has led her own institute with several employees for more than 14 years in Lucerne. She works closely with medical doctors and is an expert in aesthetic consultations, specializing in medical cosmetic treatments and the manufacturing of her own unique hyaluronic treatment www.skincosmedic.ch.

Ms. Engelbrecht won 1st place in a competition in 2009, where she presented cosmetic needling in the cosmetic booth. Since then, cosmetic needling has established itself worldwide. For the last 13 years she has only done medical needling herself.

What is medical cosmetics?

Medical cosmetics consists of the treatment of various skin problems under doctor supervision. Our team includes certified eidg. Dipl.- beauticians specializing in medical cosmetics under doctor supervision.

For treatments including Skin Rejuvenation, Anti-Aging, and Acnetreatment, we use machines and applications that far surpass the “usual” cosmetic experience.

Unfortunately, more and more unqualified individuals, who take a short weekend course on fruit acids or similar topics, describe their treatments as “medical cosmetics.”

In Switzerland, Certified medical beauticians must complete two intensive years of education in order to obtain the title “med. Kosmetikern FA.” Injection of hyaluronic acid, the implementation of mesotherapies, as well as microneedling using a 2.5mm needle, can only be administered by beauticians of minimally invasive aesthetics SVMA.
